OSI Model

OSI Model-The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model is a conceptual model that how apps interact on a network. Model is a conceptual framework to understand relationships. The objective of the OSI reference model is to guide sellers and developers. Those digital communication products and software programs that are capable of communicating a variety of communication systems using standard protocols. They can work together, and to facilitate a clear framework that describes the functions of a networking or telecommunications system.

The OSI reference model is a conceptual framework that defines the network communication used by the system, which most vendors involved in telecommunications try to describe their products and services in relation to the OSI model. And although it is useful for discussion and evaluation, OSI rarely applies. "This data breaks communication into seven intangible layers" This is because some network products or standard equipment keep related tasks together in well-defined layers, as in the OSI model. TCP / IP protocol, which defines the Internet, does not map cleanly to the OSI model. The OSI model also defines a logical network and effectively describes the computer packet transfer using different layer protocols. However, the old TCP / IP model is the universal reference framework for internet communication today.

Developed by representatives of major computer and telecommunications companies in 1983, OSI was basically a detailed specification of the actual interface. Instead, the committee decided to establish a general reference model, with which other people can then develop elaborate interfaces, which, in turn, can become the standard to control data packet transmission. Designed by the International Organization for Standardization, so that the OSI architecture was officially adopted as an international standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The OSI model can also be referred to as a seven-layer OSI model or seven-layer model.
